The Rutherford genealogy of the Spalding family names two daughters one as
Elizabeth Laura and the other as Alethea.
Given that Alethea was born on 26 November 1820 and Elizabeth Laura was
baptized on 17 December 1820, it is likely that these two were one and the
same.

I've been looking at the family of James Edmiston d. 1803 Burke Co, NC. Two
Subject: Stevens
Hi Guys,
I found a reference that may interest you. Go to http://www.jstor.org. &
look at the demo. Under search, I entered Edward Stevens & came up with 3
interesting items. Gen. Edw Steven, Rev War hero from Culpeper Co, is
closely assoc'd w the Taliaferro family. The Taliferro's were also among
the families assoc'd w the family of Ths of Fred Co, VA & SC. Some of the
Talif's went to KY aft the Rev War. Under Sussex Co M Bonds: 18 Sept 1755,
Wm Parham m. Mary Stevens, dau of Edw Stevens, dec'd. Maybe Mary & Gen'l
Edw were the ch of Edw, who d. bef 1755? Did Mary Stevens m.1 Wm Parham &
we're looking for a 2.m. of Mary Stevens Parham to John EDM?
of his ch m. into the family of Zebulon Brevard. These were from French
Hugenots & as such, the Brevard would be pronounced Bre var'.
Could this be where your Beaver/Breavere's originated? Just a thought.
Some interesting Rev War Brevard's. Although the Wm & Mary Qtrly says they
don't have any Brevard's, I found these on the NC Accts, Rev War Claims:
Abel Edmunds, Ralph Edmundson, Ths Stevens, Lt. Jos Brevard, Capt. John
Brevard, Adam Brevevard, Lt. James Beavers, Benj. Braswell. Nancy Wood
