Alexander Keith (b. 1681) came from Scotland to Baltimore Co., Maryland about
1709; m. before 26 Feb 1709 to Christian/Christianne, daughter of Capt. William
FARFARR; served as juror; took part in the deposition of disputed land in 1718;
owned lands known as "Dear Bitt" & "Shrowsbury", in northeast edge of present
city of Baltimore; d. 2 Jul 1721, Annapolis, MD. Alexander's two children, Joh
and Alexander, were taken by Mary and Alexander GRANT until they reached the ag
of twenty-one, because of the death of their father and at the request of his
mother who was then probably near death; the income of the estate was to be use
for their education and then to be returned to them at the age of twenty-one;
the administration of the estate was later entrusted to John LANCASTER who
wasted the estate and ran away; this left the two orphans practically penniless
