"Thomas Kennedy's father was John Kennedy who li. i Va. nad mar. Mary
Bragg, half Wyandot Indian. The family migrated to Ky. with Daniel Boone
and settled in Ky. He was a planter and raised horses, tobacco and corn.
He moved from Va. to Ky. abt. 1769. John Kennedy's father was Daniel
Kennedy . . . lived in Va. nad mar. a 'lady direct from Scotland.' Her name
was Nancy Bell. Daniel Kennedy's father was Daniel Kennedy, this Daniel
li. in Va. Daniel Kennedy's father was also Daniel . . . was supposed to
have come from Scotland from the area around present day Glasgow.
According family history he was supposed to have come with two other
brothers John and William on a boat commanded by a Sir Thomas. This
info. came from 'a letter from Aunt Mollie to Benjamin Franklin Kennedy',
copies of pages from family bibles, info. from 'Minnie Sue Kennedy
Fleming concerning the history of the Kennedy family', info. from a Hazel
Kaster concerning the Enlow and Kendall families, info. gathered from
the family by Louise Kennedy Bewely, from info. brought to Jess Kennedy
of Calif. by the late U.S. Senator, W. Gibbs Macadoo in April 1937 and
from county and cemetery research, and research in the Ky. and Va. State
Historical Societies and Archieves."
