pp.709-11 -"Three Plummer brothers, Hiram, Ira and Philemon, were
among the earliest settlers of the orthern part of Wildcat Twp. They
were sons of Philemon and Mary Means Plummer who came from Guilford
Co., N.C., to Wayne Co., Ind., some six years before Ind. became a state.
They lived for a time in Wayne Co., but entered land in Rush Co. in 1823.
Philemon, the father, died there in 1803, leaving the widow and children
Hiram, Ira, Henry, Perlina, and three minor sons Philemon, Andrew, and
Clement....Philemon...elder in the Christian Church...helped form the first
Christian Church on Ivin Creek and was active in the start of the
Windfall Christian Church."
