The Deal:

We are Jonathan and Gayle Paul of Corral de Tierra (Salinas) California, Mooney owners.  We have owned for over 15 years a 3-bedroom vacation home in Sunriver Oregon, a wonderful fly-in vacation destination resort. This home has been enrolled in a vacation rental program managed by a reputable local company, Sunset Realty.

In summary, we would like to rent our home directly to Mooney pilots but at a considerable savings over renting directly from Sunset Reality.  Doing this saves the renter the payment of various taxes (16%) and commission (30%) yielding a considerable savings (nearly half).  And it's all the same to us.

Number 15 Loon Lane is a modest dewelling on a street with some rather large and expensive vacation homes. It is one of the less expensive homes offered by Sunset and yet, to us, it has alwaws seemed to offer far more for the money than other rentals,

Sunriver:
Sunriver is probably the premier fly-in destination in the West. It is located in the pine forests of the high desert in the lee of the breathtaking Cascade Mountains. It offers all the year-round vacation activities you would expect: skiing at nearby Mt. Batchelor, golfing, bike riding on over 30 miles of paved bike trails, fishing, white water rafting, canoeing and kayaking on the Deschutes River, horseback riding, hiking in the adjacent national forest, a notable music festival, nature center, excellent dining, and numerous local attractions.  Our favorite time is in the spring and fall but it's great in any season. Pricing Details:

Sunset Reality offers its properties (including 15 Loon Lane) under a complex pricing schedule based on high, medium, and low seasons, with numerous "Specials". The nightly prices for Loon 15 range from $168/night ($194 with taxes) for the Christmas Vacation period to $64/night ($74 with taxes) during the low season under a "two for one" special.

Whatever, the quoted rate will be (before taxes), we will rent the house for 70% of that amount and you will not have to pay any taxes.

Spring Special (April 15-June 15) 4 nights for 2

Winter Special (Jan 2-April 14) 4 nights for 3

The specials are not offered during any holiday or vacation periods that include: King Birthday, President's Day, Spring Break, Memorial Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years.

An Example: Sunset's normal off-season price: $128/night + 16% tax = $148
  Our Price= $89.60/night ($128 x 70%)
